Day 213

Why am I blogging? Over half of my readers are here this week!! Let's see... Aunt Faye made it here at 1130am, we had lunch at Krystal's, played at the mall and baked lasagna for dinner. The kids and "ol ladies" went for a quick cruise up/down our street and them we knocked out some kids for the night! Tomorrow we shall see what else mischief we can accomplish!

Day 212

I'm laying here in bed on a vibrating massager and my back is thanking me! I'm sorry, no pix today as I've been busy cleaning house. Both kids had lousy nights last night, I'm running off maybe 4.5hrs max and am dead on my feet! I kidnapped DJs oldest (JR, 14) today, fed him pizza and made him play with Jax while I did some much needed deep cleaning. At first Jax didn't care for him but finally after an hour or so he decided JR was ok since mama and daddy didn't seem to be leaving or going too far out of sight. They played for a good 4hrs before I finally took JR home. Hopefully everyone will sleep tonight so I'm not a zombie when my house is raided tomorrow!!

Day 211

Boy do I have a couple of characters on my hands! Freyja slept til 11am, Jax until 6am. Neither would dress til they heard the magical phrase "let's go play with the trains at the bookstore", to which both kids squealed with glee and proceeded to drag us down the hallway for clothes. Then we went swimming, daddy grilled lunch at Opa and Granmamas, Jax and I ran to Target for prescription strength fever blister meds (grrrr) and then came home. Jax conked out for a 2hr nap then both kids crashed about 830-9ish. However Freyja just woke up crying so I had to snug her, then Jax started giggling and talking in his room...turns out it was just a great dream and he's a sleep talker! Tomorrow I mop or die trying!

Day 210

Lil buddy's puzzle solving skills are getting better! He's grasping where the pieces go but still has a bit of an issue figuring out why the piece won't go in if it's upside down. He did an alphabet puzzle today as well and really liked it because he knew the animals on the letters. Freyja played back in her room most of the day. It's taken over an hour to resort toy pieces and clean everything up but she's had a great time! David let me grocery shop without kids today, it was quiet and relaxing! Not to mention cheaper!! Tomorrow is house cleaning....

Day 209

I'm pleased to say the stylist worked some magic today and gave my daughter a new set of bangs to cover up her butcher bang job. Jax got his trimmed as well. The stylist commented that she'd never seen one so young sit so still and quiet for a hair cut! It's been a long evening and I'm tuckered out! This weekend will be spent cleaning and doing laundry. Freyja and I will be redoing her room sunday and making a donation pile. It's time to make room for a desk and consider putting her computer back there. Shes only five but will have computers in the classroom to do work on so guess we better get with the times! I'm in a baking mood so I'm hoping I have some time and motivation to do some baking this weekend!

Day 208

Once again my child plays with scissors and her hair...this time she decided to trim her bang! Papa has longer bangs than she does in places! Daddy is livid, mama is heartbroken...nothing can fix/blend this and school starts in 24 days!

Day 207

Today's picture...what happens when you give a 5yr old her own camera? She takes MILLIONS of pictures that look like this! Thank goodness for the digital age! We went school supply shopping today and now have all of her supplies. I still have a handful of things I need for her to start school but she has everything she needs. Tomorrow we have a playdate with Nayeli, she's the daughter of a mom I met through the moms group. She and Freyja have become penpals recently, I know that sounds odd since we live in the same city but it's giving both girls a chance to brush up on their writing skills before kindergarten starts. Tomorrow is the "big news" day, I'm being vague but for those of you that know what's going on, you know the news I am referring to. Please says prayers and keep good thoughts!!

Day 206

This may very well be my last post, my husband might kill me when he checks the credit card statement....I just had waaaaaay too much fun on EBay buying stuff for Jaxs 2nd birthday! I bought a party pack that comes with a big moveable poster, wrapping paper, table cover and 25 goody bags. Along with a Pocoyo tshirt for the party, his birthday balloon and then his present, a set of 4 plush dolls of the main characters from the cartoon. But our baby only turns 2 once!! Today Nicole and Freya came over for a playdate . It's hard to have kids over while David works during the day but the kids did alright today. We went to Chik Fil A for lunch, went to the park but it was too hot to play so we went back to the house and played Wii til Jax got fed up. I made chicken enchiladas verde tonight and they were awesome! Jax helped make banana muffins and devoured two of them. Freyja talked to Papa on FaceTime again tonight. Now I'm off to bed!!

Day 205

It's been a good news day! My labs came back decent though I need improvement and a follow up next month. The washer...user error...I feel like a complete idiot! The dryer on the other hand needed a good cleaning so the appt was an all round success! Mom, I have a huge bottle of detergent for you! Today's picture...Jax went to the mailbox with me this morning and on the way back in he picked this pretty flower and brought it in to his sister who was still eating breakfast. So I had her pose with her pretty flower in her new Rapunzel nightgown (that it matched) so everyone could see her gift from her sweet brother! Now it's time to crash before lil man demands my presence!

Day 204

Sorry about yesterday, I zoned out and forgot! Freyja talked to her papa on the iPad last night and it completely messed up my usual routine. Today Jax and I played Dino's and beanie babies while daddy and Freyja played Zelda all afternoon. Then we all went for a swim, the boys got us before us girls so Bugg and I worked on treading water without water wings. All four of us returned home undrown contrary to Buggs belief. Can't wait for Sears to come out tomorrow and service my washer, it keeps "sudsing" on me and won't finish the load without being coaxed. The machines are as old as our marriage, that doesn't say much for the newer machines...hopefully our extended warranty does the trick, last thing we need is need new appliances! Drs appt in the morning for me, just a follow up to my annual blood work from earlier this month. Fun fun...

Day 202

I hate to admit it but I had to call off the sleep over tonight. I'm not in any mental condition to deal with someone else's child let alone my own. Luckily Nicole understood and we have rescheduled for next weekend barring any further distractions. They did come over and play for a while though and that made both of the girls happy. Jax really likes Freya too so all three of them play well together. David went to see a movie with his dad tonight, they went to the last matinee and made it home about 830, turns out the movie was almost 3hrs long. Tomorrow I take mom grocery shopping unencumbered and we plan to take our time and not whine or beg for toys. Just hoping both kids sleep tonight so I'm not a grumpy chauffeur for mom in the morning!

Day 201

Thank goodness for days where the kids can be entertained watching mama play a video game. David and I both could use a couple of mental health days...I would say better days are coming but tomorrow is anything but a TGIF for me, it's sleepover night for Freyja and Freya! Weeeee....

Day 200

Kids and I slept in past 10am today, David was up working at 7am. I didn't put on clothes til after 2pm, it's just been a lazy day! We went swimming with Adam and heather around 5pm, Star dislocated the tip of her tail so we came home earlier than planned. Got some rather upsetting news today but nothing i can blog about. I played with Jax while daddy and Freyja watched their favorite show together and now it's bedtime.

Day 199

We did the dreaded shoe shopping today. Freyja picked out another pair of Sketchers light up shoes and Jax got his first pair of shoes that light up on the heel. We also bought panties, socks and hair accessories. And of course the important BACKPACK!! She still needs a "first day of school" outfit and school supplies but otherwise se is ready to go! Daddy took us to Chik Fil A for dinner after shoe shopping and the kids got to play for a bit. It will be a sad day when we finally run out of those free lunch coupons and we should be out by the end of summer :-( Tomorrow is new clothes laundry day and maybe a trip to the bouncy place if we can find a friend to go with us.

Day 198

David took a mental health day and we took the kids to the mall for some back to school shopping for Freyja. She ended up with nine new shirts, one dress and four pairs of jeans. It's amazing how long her jeans are now!! When she and I saw the dress we HAD TO HAVE it!!! It reminded us both of Gran because of the peacock. She still needs shoes, socks and panties but at least she has clothes! Both kids got to bounce while we were at the mall, Jax squealed happily the entire time and Freyja flipped several times on her own. We finished up the day by playing with the neighbor, taking a bubble bath and watching our favorite cartoon. Tomorrow I think we will go in search of shoes!

Day 197

Freya came over and spent the afternoon with Freyja. All of the kids played nicely together. When Nicole came to pick her up we took the girls swimming (while daddy and Jax had pie with the grandparents). Freyja jumped in the pool for the first time ever, then did it repeatedly til it was time to get out. Jax went down early tonight so I had time to window shop online for tomorrows back to school clothing trip for Freyja at Old Navy. I have a great coupon so David told me to go ahead and get her a few things. Though I plan on saving her "first day of school" outfit til closer to school time. 15 more days til my house is overrun with aunts!! Yep, not icky ants but my two favorite aunts and me mudder!! Yay!!!

Day 196

It's gonna be a late night any way I go so I figured I'd go ahead and write. David and I took Freyja to meet Freya and Nicole and watch Ice Age 4 together. We all LOVED the movie! Jax stayed home with Nicole's friend Mark that he fell in love with a couple of weeks ago. It was our first time with a paid babysitter and it went great! Only negative is that Jax took a late map because he played so hard with Mark and now he's wide awake and eati a grilled cheese while watching Gnomeo and Juliet with Freyja. Tomorrow Freya is coming to our house for a few hours while Nicole goes to a play. David will play with Jax while I play referee with the girls. They don't fight but they still require a little direction when playing. Plus this will prepare me for them spending the night here next weekend.

Day 195

Today we went to Gran and Grandaddys to celebrate Freyjas birthday. We went to "panda" (Grand Buffet) for lunch per Freyjas request then ran a couple of errands. When we got back to the house Freyja got to open her birthday gifts. We played a bit longer then headed home before the rain could catch us. Freyjas had a fun afternoon of playing in her room and decorating her dresser with her big girl stuff from Gran while Jax and I wrestled in his room and reorganized his dresser. David just finished working on his big release, he can breathe a sigh of relief again! If he hadnt finished tonight the kids and I wouldve gone to the zoo in the morning but now that he's done I'm not sure what the plans for the weekend are now. Just hoping Jax has a better night than last night and both kids sleep in tomorrow!!

Day 194

The kids and I had a play date today at the bouncy place. It's a workout going with one kid, two is plain murder! Ja is still too small to go down the slide by himself so I get the task of carrying him up and then sliding down with him. Freyja and Freya had a great time running wild in there as well. Nicole and I went through the gauntlet with the kids and a lady that was watching us took some pictures because we looked so ridiculous coming through the tunnels at the same time. Then we braved the rains and went to Chik Fil A for lunch and played a while longer. Jax napped on the way (maybe 10min drive) and then gobbled up his nuggets so he could play with the big girls. We came home ad played quietly for a while then at 6pm we went out and played with the neighbor for an hour before bath time, popcorn and bed! I'm going out tonight to a kickboxing fund raiser for brother Tim. He has made it to the championships and his team is going to Biloxi Saturday for the big meet. it'll be a late night but it'll be fun!

Day 193

The kids have had a full day today! We started the morning with BOTH kids coming in to wake me up. Apparently Jax woke up as Freyja went by his room so she led him to me. Then we played in Freyjas room for a while with all of her new toys. Jax loves the new game she got and she loves her new dolls. As you can see in the picture they also played Tangled and strung Flynn Rider up by his feet on the closet door behind them. We went to the park for while then to Opa and Granmamas for a swim. Then while Freyja continued to play dolls, Jax and I had a wrestling match that ended in me having a bruised cheekbone (possibly a black eye) and him a temporary goose egg on his windshield (I mean forehead). Lil boys are sooooo different than girls! We ended today with me helping Freyja decorate her jewelry box she got from DJ for her birthday. Now she's playing quietly in bed and Jax is once again watching Pocoyo....hopefully we will be in bed before 11 tonight unlike the last few nights!

Day 192

This time five years ago I was finally getting to hold my baby girl for the first time!! Time sure has flown! Baby girl had a wonderful day today! She iced cupcakes, helped clean house, prepped party supplies and greeted guests! We ended up having it at he house because at 430 it was pouring rain but of course at 5pm it was dry and the sun was shining! David and Adam grilled burgers and hotdogs, we had ice cream and cupcakes and my house was crazy for about three hours but we had a blast, Freyja loved all of her gifts and everyone was happy! Ja napped til the food was ready then partied hard with all the people in his house. Pictures of the party are in the July album. I'm off to a much needed nights sleep!

Day 191

Jax and I dropped sister off at DJs for a playdate while he and I birthday shopped for her. We picked up paint from Lowes for her rainbow closet, if there's time and enough paint we might paint her bookcase rainbow colors as well. Tomorrow I need to go to Sams Club for burgers and buns for the party tomorrow night. David worked all the way til 845 tonight, he has a deadline coming up soon so he's grumpy and overworked this week. Here's hoping tomorrow will be a great day and this week passes quickly and easily for David's sake and my sanity!!

Day 190

In two days I will have a five year old...my how the last five years have flown! She's an angel, she's a demon...she's the reason I'm starting to get gray hairs! She's laying beside me now READING Green Eggs and Ham on the iPad and as she touches places on the screen she is READING the actual words! She's an amazing little creature as frustrating as she is 99.9% of the time. I can't wait to see what she's capable of once she starts school! Jax will miss his big sister during the day. 43 days left until school starts!!

Day 189

It's been a fun day! Freyja and I went this morning for her 5yr portraits. They took some gorgeous pix of her and it broke my heart to only be able to pick out two of them but she's my beautiful girl so I can just admire her at home instead of the pictures. We picked up daddy and Jax and had lunch at Chik Fil A together. Jax went up into the play area for the first time ever. He enjoyed playing up there but got overwhelmed and I had to go save him. We had a cook out and swim night with the Howells (DJ) and the Roberts (Adam). It's always fun to had a pool full of friends! Hopefully lil man will sleep soon and I can have some relaxation time!

Day 188

The morning started at 5am with strobe lightening and the day just kept getting better! Jax woke up at 815ish and fell back asleep on me on the couch til sometime after 930. Freyja woke up at 10am, David finally emerged about 1030. After a tantrum Jax took a nap about 330 then we met DJ and kids for a swim about 530. Freyja has melted down since the moment the kids left to go home...I'm at a loss at what to do with her...I can't take these daily sometimes hourly crying jags over the stupidest stuff! Then you add Jax and his tantrums and you really wonder why David and I aren't alcoholics! Tomorrow is Freyjas 5yr portraits and then we have a cookout and swim planned with Dj and kids and Adam, Heather and Sarina. Now it's time to knock out the boy and go drown my headache in some music and find my happy place again!

Day 187

Sweet moments still occur with my beauty but they are far and few between it seems! This morning Star actually tolerated Freyja cuddling her this morning on the couch and even curled up on her. Freyja went to Granmamas today and had icecream, blew bubbles and baked cookies. Jax and I went and ordered her birthday balloons then went back to pick her up. When it cooled off this evening we went out and played with the neighbor for a bit. Then bath time and trying I catch a wee naked lad that had nooooooo interest in pjs. Now daddy is dealing with a very grumpy boy and I'm putting down my beauty!

Day 186

My house is spotless and smells of BBQ chicken, broiled corn on the cob and lavender pinesol, my feet are killing me, I smell like chlorine and sulfur! It's been an awesome Fourth of July! We cleaned house today, grilled out with Adam, Heather, Sarina, Nicole, Pat and Freya, went for an evening swim, had pie and icecream for dessert then set off some fireworks. David grilled BBQ chicken for the first time and did a great job. There wasn't enough room to grill the corn so the girls and I tried to set the kitchen on fire broiling it, I had the rack too high and it starting setting the corn on fire so had to move the rack down. The kids enjoyed each other and the fireworks. The adults had great conversation and food. Adam and I had great time being pyromaniacs and blowing stuff up. Both kids are now passed out in their beds and this mama is right behind them!!

Day 185

Kids and I found fireworks in town today so didn't have to make a run for the border after all! Freyja was thrilled to get to help pick them out and then pick out her sparklers. It's confirmed that Nicole, Freya and Enir (dad) along with Adam, heather and Sarina will all be joining us for BBQ and fireworks and swimming if weather allows or we'll be at our house playing board games. That means I need to clean house tomorrow and prep the den for four kids instead of just my two. Three girls and one Jax...should make for an interesting night! Hopefully Jax will sleep all night and not have another yogurt craving at 5am! It's hard to get back to sleep when you start seeing the sun rise. The kids played with a balloon tonight, Jax learned how to blow it up them let go and it make noise. He loved his balloon play!! Happy fourth to you all tomorrow! Day 184

PJ girl and turtle boy shared a Sunny Delight popcicle tonight after playing outside and taking their bath. They've played well together as usual though sister did knock him off the couch at one point and him knocking his head on the floor. As I gave them their bath tonight I noticed they both have little tan lines from their bathing suits. It's so cute to see the little straps on Freyjas back and the little white butt on Jax! Tomorrow morning we're off to the Alabama border to buy fireworks for the 4th. We're having a small cookout at mom and dad vhs with Adam, Heather and Sarina and maybe Nicole, Freya and her daddy. I've already done my grocery shopping for the cookout so tomorrow I can focus on fireworks and laundry!

Day 183

We played over at Granmamas and Opas today. Freyja played ball in the backyard with Granmama then she went swimming with us. It was her first time in the pool in almost a decade! Jax took a short nap upon returning home which has made for a late night most likely. Gotta do first of the month shopping tomorrow including birthday stuff for Freyjas party. Also need to call and schedule her 5yr portraits. And if course I need to hunt down fireworks for Wednesday!! Yay :-)
