Beauty is now taking piano lessons! Today was lesson #2 with Granmama. Freyja is taking it very seriously and loves to practice! She received her second report card last week and of course was all straight "S's" so she's still doing great in school. The tooth fairy hasn't revisited us yet but hopefully will soon...her bottom tooth is being extremely stubborn!

Jax is becoming a big boy more and more each day and I hate it! He's my baby dangit! His first sentence was "mama no gone gone" the other morning after a huge sigh of relief and finding out mama had not left him behind!

Mama has news for a change! I started 12/9 going to the gym and as of Monday it was my 6wk mark and I have actually lost some inches! The waist and hips are a fraction smaller now!! Every 6wks I will be measured for updates! I'm loving the gym, my mama time and loving the fact that Jax loves going to the Childcare place right next door!

I'm done with rush again, potty training starts February 1st (but he goes pretty regularly already!), hedgehog day is the 2nd, our inlaws in China move home the 18th,and David and I celebrate 7yrs the 19th! That's all the updates for now. TGIF tomorrow!!

2013-Day 1

Thanks to Grandmama Freyja now has her very own desk in her bedroom! One that matches her furniture since it all once belonged to Grandmama and Aunt Katherine. I tried to take buddy out shopping with me today but had to take him back home as he turned into a demon half way through. It was good for me though because I got to grocery shop alone and it was great for him because daddy took the kids outside and they played til it started sprinkling. Now Bugg is watching a movie on the iPad and Jax has been gone since 8ish when he passed out in the den. No promises but hopefully this year I will be able to make all 365 entries! Happy New Years!!

'twas the night before the night before Christmas

'twas the day before the night before Christmas when the phone suddenly rang and what do my mothers wandering ears hear but a serenade that went something like this: you better not scream, you better not shout, you better not pout, the kids and I are picking you up to see Santa! Not probably the thing she was wanting to hear at 945 after a restless night but as always mother was dressed and at the gate by 1130 and off we ran to buy graham crackers then go see the jolly ol fat man himself! Not to mention we got to look around this really cool antique "mall" thing over in Milton where Santa was visiting. Afterwards we pawned the kids off on Granddaddy who drew, cut out and taped sharks to the wall with them while mom and I recovered the little folding chairs the kids sit on in my den. One tore earlier in the month so mom and I found some rubber shelf liner that made a great upholstery for kiddy chairs! Only one casualty...the nail gun chipped moms thumb nail when I shot it. Oh, and Jax has a blister on his knuckle where he grazed the hot glue gun. Upon returning home I hit up Redbox for Men in Black 3 and Arthur Christmas (for the kids) and watched movies with hubby while Jax zonked out in my lap and Freyja enjoyed her Santa flick in the den. Now she's happily passed out after reading her new Peter Rabbit book from Granddaddy and is cuddling her Peter that came with it, Jax is out cold in my bed and I just took my horse pills for an early onset of fever blisters. Time to call it a night and prep for the big night tomorrow!

Day 338

Heaven help the beach, Aunt Nita, mom and Suzi have invaded! David and I dropped the kids at a friends house and met them out at the beach and had our first kid free meal in ages. I'm not sure when I will see them again but hopefully it's not in jail needing bail money! Other than that its been a quiet day with my princess and pirate! Gnite!

Day 336

What a beautiful day to go to the beach for Christmas pictures! 73degrees, cloudy and not very windy. Yet we chose to wear sweaters and kick off our socks and shoes for your typical beach portrait. I traded services with a friend of mines husband, so he took our pictures and I took theirs. The kids had a great time running in the sand. Freyja saw a sting ray jump out of the water. Jaxon brought home half the beach in his diaper, Freyja had the other half in the cuffs of her pant legs…anything left was in the cuffs of mine! Afterwards we went wish mom vh a happy birthday. Paul (photographer friend) will have his shots of today to me later this week and I will post the rest of them then but in the meantime, use the December link that I sent out yesterday and you can see the rest of the pictures from today that I took. Jax crashed early tonight so I've been organizing pictures and folders on my laptop. Now its time to head to bed and catch a few winks before my monster man decides its time to cuddle or wake up!
 

Day 335

I was awakened this morning at 630am by a little hand shaking me and a lil voice saying MAMA!! The tooth fairy came!! She left me THIS...as she shoves a $5 and 2 gold coins in my face...but mama, they are chocolate!!! And she runs back off to bed. Not 15min later Jax wakes up and the day is started. We went to an open house at the Wild Life Refuge and got to see lots of cute little cuddly things. Then went to a birthday party at Chik Fil A for one of Freyjas friends. Then went out past Milton fit what we thought would be a fun outting to see Christmas lights but the kids fell asleep, we got turned around out in the middle of no where, the place was NOT what we anticipated, their train was not up and running and then Milton was having its Christmas parade tonight (we didn't know) and we got stuck in parade traffic on the way home. Now Jax is watching a Toy Story marathon since there's no chance this kid will sleep after his two hour nap in the car! It was a fun day but sure could've used a better ending! The December album is up now, I sent out the link earlier. Tomorrow we go to the beach and do Christmas pictures!!

Day 334

It's been an eventful day! Grans grocery day, take your pirate to the park day, go fly a kite day and most exciting of all lose your first tooth day!! Picked up Gran after taking Freyja to school, did some of our shopping, took Long John Jacky to the park to play on his pirate ship, more shopping, then Freyja and Granddaddy put together her inflatable Barbie kite and flew it around the driveway, came home and sewed a tooth pillow for the impending tooth loss that we knew would happen this weekend, Freyja helped sew it!! Prepped for bed, reminded her to WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE and about 20min later (845pm) I heard her screeching MAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMA and whaddya know, we have a tooth!! So daddy came running with the cordless and we proceeded to call all grandparents to share the news! Good thing we did our pillow tonight otherwise the tooth fairy might've had to be delayed. Before David goes to bed I'll have him switch the tooth for a gold coin (per her request but its actually chocolate) and a $5. Here's hoping we all get some sleep tonight, we have a fun weekend ahead of us!!

Day 330

Today has been a good day! Yes, my monster woke me before the alarm clock but at noon he passed out and he and I napped for FOUR HOURS!!! Daddy agreed to pick up the Bugg from school if Jax fell asleep so I could nap too. It was awesome!! We woke up at 4pm on the dot, we all went outside to play, then Bugg and I rode bikes for bit, played with the neighbor then came in for some homemade chili and grilled cheese sandwiches! My Beauty got to paint this after noon since Jax and I were still passed out. She made me this beautiful picture and I had to share!! At bedtime while I brushed her teeth I noticed some gum swelling then saw the little piece of tooth peeking through. If you look at my fingertip it's right across from her new tooth cutting its way in. She is so thrilled!! Jax finally gave up the good fight at 1030 and will probably be begging to come bed with me within the hour. I'm a bit tired but if I don't sleep now.... tomorrow will be "fun" and I doubt I can luck in to a second 4hr nap in one week! Four more days til December!!

Day 328

I know he's a boy and I know there's mischief written all over him but for the life of me I do not understand why he feels the need to make my heart pop out of my chest! The lil bugger finally found the hole in the fence after it being there about a month and found out he could squeeze through! Luckily his sister was on that side of the house and came screaming for me. She searched the neighbors backyard while I took the front yard and cul de sac and found him dashing for our front door. Could've been worse but I refuse to think of that right now. When Leslie (neighbor) came home, she and I wedged a plank in the fence/tree to ensure he will not get out again. David and Lafe will work on a permanent fix on Monday or Tuesday. Didnt know I could sprint anymore, but I did today!

Day 327

Life of Pi...awesome book made into an equally awesome movie! Would not advise for animal lovers but it has an awesome religious message to it and really challenges your perspective. David and I saw it in 3d today and loved it! The kids stayed home and my friend Lisa brought her two boys over (Zane and Ryker). The kids had a great time...minus one stick sword fight that gave Zane a scratch and one misstep and fall from the ladder that left an unhappy Zane (again). Both of my kids are in love with Ryker (11wks old) and demanded to hold him before he was allowed to go home. If I wasn't completely done having kids, I think Jax would make an awesome big brother. Freyja of course loves all things baby! And lucky for Lisa, both Zane and Jax thinks the sun rises and sets on Freyja and all that she does. I can't wait to see the relationship these 4 have when their older!! Tomorrow I'm taking the kids to meet the grinch then to Chik Fil a for some play time while daddy and John (DJs hubby) drop an Internet cable through the attic from office to living room.

Day 326

Happy turkey day!!! I cooked my first turkey, it was moist and perfect! The kids played and had a great day, David and I played games and had a great day! Jax passed out about 7ish to his favorite movie, The Lorax. Freyja stayed up til 10 watching me play Lord of the Rings. Now it's time to turn in cuz I know Jax will be up oober early!

Day 322

Three dozen cookies later Freyja and I completed our snacks for Tuesday! Tomorrow we decorate them. No date with Lord Elrond tonight, Jax took a long nap because he's not feeling well and he's still awake. Back to cartoons and cuddling with my monster man!

Day 321

After reaching her personal zen (or "inner peace" as Shifu from Kung Fu Panda would say) at the park today the kids and i harvested oranges from the backyard. Our tree gave us 16 this year. That's more than last year but less than the year before. Jax ate his first orange today, he thought it was pretty good stuff! Everyone is still coughing. I had another date with Lord Elrond tonight, we kicked some Orc and met an Ent, life is good! Laundry day tomorrow followed by a two day school week and a 5 day vacation for Bugg. We have cancelled thanksgiving this year due to sickness, and immunodeficient family members. But all parties agree its for the best. We shall just celebrate Christmas a little more exuberantly this year! G'nite to all, I'm off to dream of saving the Shire and sailing off into the sunset with Lord Elrond!

Day 300 and something...

Meet the new man in my life, this is Lord Elrond. He and I have spent the last few nights together, it's getting pretty serious and well...I guess I'll just give the kids to David and Lord Elrond and I will live happily ever after hunting Orc and helping Frodo destroy "the one ring".

Seriously, I have a new video game. I have only a couple of hours to play at night so by the time I'm done I'm too pooped to type. Kids are coughing, David and I are starting to cough so YAY US! Off to bed now so I can go back out with Lord Elly tomorrow night!

Day 315

My Bugg ate (3bites) mashed potatoes, gravy and corn!!! AND I can kiss her forehead without burning my lips!! She took a bubble bath and watched movies from the couch most of the day between naps. I bought her a new game for the iPad tonight so she is on cloud nine! My buddy is sitting here snugged tight under my arm, chugging OJ and watching Ponyo. His eyes have not wandered from the screen at all! He adores this movie, but then again it's a family favorite, I couldn't imagine someone not loving it! If Freyja stats fever free then I won't call the dr tomorrow but I'm about 97% sure she's not going to school on Tuesday...I don't want to chance a relapse or anything else! So we shall just have another r&r day filled with movies, popcorn and OJ!

Day 314

This is what a sick Bugg looks like and I don't like it! It's supposed to be the sweetest sight you ever see, seeing your child nap, but when the feel like poo and look like they've been run over by a poo truck then all you can do is whimper with them :-( All I can do is pray Jax isn't next or David and I! The high light of both of the kids day today was getting to Facetime with Papa. Freyja told him all about her princess books and princess dolls. Then Jax had his turn with Papa and brought books up on the bed and was showing the camera different animals or objects and in "Jax-ese" was telling Papa what they were. Good thing I'm fluent and can translate! Even daddy still struggles with Jax-ese. We watched "Brave" tonight, it came in the mail for Bugg today and instead of holding it for Christmas we caved so we could see a smile on her puny face. More r&r scheduled for tomorrow along with towel laundry! Who knows, if the weather behaves maybe I'll do a little chain saw massacring in the back yard!

Day 311

It's been a fun day for Jax! He had an almost 4hr play date with DJs niece and nephew, play time with sister in the backyard and then Opa came over for dinner. Freyja had a clingy start to her morning, followed by losing an earring back on her new Hello Kitty earrings, an hours worth of math homework, and then the more real realization that she WILL lose those front bottom teeth soon...like thanksgiving soon if not sooner! I know she's tired from yesterday and that doesn't help anything but at least tomorrow is Thursday and after Friday she gets a three day weekend!!

Day 310

Yeah yeah...we thought last night was the end of the Dicksons but we stretched it to one more night. We all went out to Mexican and karaoke tonight. The kids had a great time, the adults had a better time! I'm tired, ready for bed and I can wait til morning to find out who I will be stuck with president for the next 4yrs...sadly it will not be Dr Who!

Day 309

It started like a typical Monday...psycho kids, lots of errands and general chaos. It ended with seeing Wreck it Ralph at the theater, an awesome pizza at Mellow Mushroom and then a sad Bugg saying her last good bye to her fellow goddess til who knows when. She and I both shed a tear on the way home tonight. Just once I'd like for the kids and I to make a non military friend and be allowed to "grow up" together and not have to say good bye :-( Jax had an early morning and a late night...I do not look forward to finding out what he has in store for us tonight!
