Day 304

Happy Halloween!!! Today I did a craft project with Freyjas class and took them a popcorn snack, they LOVED me! Nicole and Freya came over and trick or treated with us and then stayed and played for a while. I'm not sure we will be seeing them again before they move :-( The girls had a good time though we had the normal "me first" and pouting issues....at least in three years when they are reunited they will be older and hopefully play better. We took the girls by themselves then nicole and David watched the girls while I took Jax to the 5other houses in our cul de sac that had their lights on. He immediately picked up on the concept of if he said thank you, people would give him candy. Both kids got two pieces this evening before bed then I sorted through all of it and applied the parental candy tax. Tomorrow is Jaxs least favorite day of the month, the day I drag him to every store in town for first of the month shopping. David and Freyja have teeth cleanings tomorrow after school and then Saturday is grocery day with Gran!

Day 301

It's been a busy weekend! Friday night we had a mother/daughter sleepover with Freya and Nicole. Saturday morning we had our garage sale, Saturday afternoon we played at Opa and Granmamas for a while then went to the egg haunt and froze our body parts off. It was so chilly we skipped the haunted hay ride! Today we had to break the news of a dead hammy but the mood lightened with a gift of a couple new small toys and then decorating our pumpkin. Jax has a play date with his friend Zane tomorrow morning, then downtown trick or treating Tuesday night then the grand finale Wednesday night! In other news, I learned this evening one of my all time favorite books is being made into a movie, "Life of Pi". I look forward to rereading it and then seeing how well it translates to the big screen!

Day 297

Girls night at the fair! Nicole and I took the little goddesses to the fair tonight and had a blast! We hit the hardcore rides first then finished up the night with kiddie stuff. Highlights of the night consist of going through a fun house with moving floors, it started out "normal" but to exit you had to go through a spinning tunnel. Freya went through first and got stuck in a tumble, then Nicole went to save her and bit the big one! Freyja had little problem going through, I freaked and took several moments before I could force my way across. Freyja saw a bouncy thing like she loves at the mall and wanted to bounce so as her special prize I paid to let her bounce. The bonus was since no one else was bouncing, the guy let Freyja keep bouncing til SHE was done!!! I think she gave out about 15min in!! Ooooo she loved it! We didn't leave til 745 and had to take Freya and Nicole home, then Freyja begged for Arby's so we stopped and grabbed her a junior, she showered, ate, brushed and hit the hay all in under 15minutes! Daddy was nit pleased we were so late but sometimes you just gotta do something special for your kid! I don't think this is a night we will forget anytime soon!!

Day 295

We had a play date with DJs niece Cheyanne today. The kids played for bit then Jax wanted to go visit DJ. He has fun trying on the steam punk glasses John has been making for Halloween. Other than that its been a quiet normal Monday!

Day 293

No sooner did I hit publish in my blog last night then David came in with a whimpering Freya that wanted her mama. I tried snuggling her but I'm a far cry from the real mama when a babe is tired and upset! Freyja and I drove her home, came home, snugged for about 5min before she passed out next to me. Today we went over and the girls played princesses while Nicole and I tackled some more garage demons. The movers will be there Monday to start packing them up...have I mentioned THIS SUCKS?!? The girls had a good time but due to lack of sleep and lack of mama for a good portion of last night Freya was a very fickle girl today and it didn't take much at all for mine to set her off frequently and you know how Freyja loves to egg a situation on! Daddy and Jax had a great day playing. Tomorrow is laundry day!

Day 292

I can't wait to say in the morning I survived my first sleepover! Freya is staying the night tonight and we've played outside, had pizza, watched the new TinkerBell movie, had popcorn and now my little goddesses are snug in bed together with the VReader reading books, Jax is out cold in his bed and talking in his sleep, daddy is playing his game and I'm chilling in the bedroom for bit enjoying some music. Tomorrow Nicole and I are organizing her garage for our garage sale next weekend..we would've had it tomorrow morning but after seeing her garage this morning the thought we could get it done in one day leaves me in fits o hysterical giggles! We did manage to clear a path today and make a small dent but truth be told an exploded mine field has a better chance of organizing over night than that garage! Ah but I did find treasure today! A framed poster of Nightmare Before Christmas and a notepad full of their most famous scenes. I still need to haul another few bags of books over there and a few other odds and ends that's cluttering up my garage. By next Saturday we will have a phenomenal garage sale or a very organized haul for goodwill! Eyelids are drooping, time to crash! Here's hoping all my lil chillens let me sleep tonight!!

Day 290

Jax and I took Gran grocery shopping this morning, complete with a trip to Hardee's for breakfast. Jax always has orange juice and hash rounds while mom and I enjoy our biscuit and gravy. We got back to Grans house with a few minutes to spare so Jax could see Grandaddy then had to zoom back home in time to pick up sister. We arrived at school with 10min to spare! This week has been fire safety week for the kindergarteners so everyday Freyja has come home with a "did you know..." For me. Today she and Jax played fire fighters in the back yard, she pulled him around in the fire truck (red wagon) while he held the water tank and hose (blue ball and a stick), then when they would reach the fire he would hold out the stick and Freyja would throw the ball at the fire (or where he was pointing). It's amazing what these two can think up together...or what Freyja can think up and get Jax to go along with! Tomorrow is report card day!!! I remember the anxiety of getting mine back in the day...I hope she never gets that worry and that she's a better student than I ever was! If its good grades, we are off to the fair on Tuesday! Yay!!
