Day 243

For those of you who have not heard, Chadron is on fire. Not the actual town yet but over 46k acres have burned including Chadron State park and several surrounding homes. They have not started evacuations yet but it looks like its eminent for Crawford, Chadron and Hemmingford. I've been in contact with several friends up there and it does not look good.
In other news, IT'S FRIDAY!!! Mama gets to sleep in in the morning, swap tomorrow night and kid free grocery shopping on Sunday!! Yay!!!

Day 241

I'm feeding the boy snacks in his daddy's lap more often! Daddy + snack = snackaleptic boy (narcoleptic)! Been a lazy day...school/works starts back tomorrow, I drilled some holes in the pig belly on the back porch for drainage, and various other mundane household tasks. Yay for being back in schedule tomorrow!!!

Day 240

I can't take credit for this picture but that's the observation deck that I took pix on last night with Freyja. It was closed today obviously because of the waves but someone with an awesomely powerful lens managed to snag this shot. It's been a mix of beautiful sunshine and sideways rain today. There was a tornado in Milton but not too close to mom and no idea on damage. The kids and I saw a huge tree down in the road over in East Hill near the park we took pix at. DJ and I took the kids out for a few minutes today between feeder bands. It was fun nearly being blown over and getting a sand body blast. Now the question is, will David and I get any sleep tonight with all the wind and rain!

Day 239

Fear not, even when we lose power I shall not lose my ability to take pix and blog! Freyja and I went out to the beach tonight to see the waves, 312 pix later and a shared ice cream later Freyja and I made it home safely. Editing pix now, will send an email shortly!

Day 238

Yay for free curbside furniture!! We scored a lovely Broyhill dresser today with only one blemish on it from a curb over near mom and dad vh. We went for an early swim and as we left to come home we noticed it, went back and grabbed dad vhs suv and loaded up the dresser. Now I have a folding table again, we still have the needed surface space for the printer and we have some more much needed drawer space! The kids had a better day today. No biting! They played outside while I chopped down the azalea in front of Jaxs room. I found a baby lizard, barely 2in long nose to tail, and let the kids hold and play with it for a while then we came in and they took a bubble bath. No school Monday and Tuesday for Freyja because of hurricane Isaac, but as of tonight I still have to report to work at 7am. I'm glad to see we are out of the direct hit zone but I hate that it looks like New Orleans will bear the brunt of this one again. Here's hoping power outages and damage to anyone anywhere is short lived and easily repaired!!

Day 237

Worked for a bit this morning. Came home to Jax tucked under a blanket in Freyjas room watching cartoons on the iPad. Then while David mowed the kids and I went to Toys r Us for a prize, Freyja came home with a new Doc McStuffins toy and Jax came home with a Kung Fu Panda Po doll. Everything was going great til Jax started crying tonight and when we checked on him Freyja had bitten five times! Once on each leg once on each arm and then once right above his eye...she lost her new toy, several other toys as well as the iPad for the rest of the weekend and was made to go to bed at 7pm. Jax finally passed out about 930 and I've been up playing iPad for bit, now its time to sleep!

Day 236

I survived the major week of rush! Freyja survived the first week of kindergarten! Daddy witnessed his baby girl becoming more independent. Jax had his first playdate, one specifically for him with another little boy his age! It's been a good week, good night!

Day 234

It's after 9pm...guess who isn't even yawning yet and hasn't even had a nap today! He's gonna be a GRUMPY boy tomorrow! Freyja joined the "walkers" today and you could see the stress just melt off of her as she got closer to the corner where Jax and I met her. Jax even ran up and hugged her and held her hand! So moving to the walker line was a good move! Jax kissed his first girl today, we met a 2.5yr old at BNN today and they really hit it off. When she had to leave she gave Jax a hug and he grabbed her and kissed her then pushed her away like he does Freyja. Her Nana and I were in shock but it was cute! Work was better even though I didn't get out of there til 7pm tonight. Didn't punch anyone today but that doesn't mean he didn't need to be ;-) Tomorrow is the first day of college classes, will be working a longer shift tomorrow so Nicole and Freya are coming to play with Jax at 1 and stay til about 5ish when David gets off work. Say prayers for Nicole! Here's hoping we all sleep tonight and tomorrow is relatively painless!!

Day 233

Eight more days and I'm done with rush...I HATE 615am, I'm ready for school to be over with! I'm taking Freyja out of the rider line and letting her walk a block (supervised) to meet me. Some smoker lit up right outside my window in the rider line so the heck with that! My dentures gave me a blister, my feet hurt, pms is invading and I punched david in the chest today for being a pain in my rear! How's that for an update tonight? Good news, both kids were asleep by 830, Freyja was face first on the iPad again.

Day 232

My beauty made it through her first day of school! The next two weeks may kill us with my work schedule and getting used to her school schedule! Just hope Jax goes to sleep soon so I can do the mound of paperwork they sent me and then I can go to bed!

Day 231

There's no way I couldnt blog tonight and miss sharing this picture! This is moms and my NEW way of grocery shopping!! We had a good day together! Tried to swim but was stormed out of the pool, Freyja and I did a puzzle and now I'm watching my movie on my laptop in bed! G'nite!

Day 230

Happy 2nd birthday to my lil buddy! My lil red headed tazmanian pain in the rear!! Hard to believe two years ago this evening I was laying in a hospital bed alone with this lil guy with his red peach fuzz mohawk and thanking God that he was a boy after all even though I had prayed for another girl the entire time. He's had a fun day today, he slept in til 8am, got to go shopping, took a nap in my arms in the recliner, had a melt down when I left for work (only to be sent home unneeded today). He beemed like I had brought him the moon when I came home with his Pocoyo balloon blown up! He helped me clean up the kitchen while I cooked pizzas and baked brownies. Then Opa and Granmama came over and we had his favorite dinner (pizza) and his dream dessert (warm brownie with mint chocolate chip ice cream). He LOVED all of his birthday gifts! Daddy and I got him a set of Pocoyo dolls, Papa and Granma Stella got him a train set (seen in picture)...I opted to only give him the vehicles for his birthday and save the buildings and tracks for Christmas or next birthday when he's a bit older. Gran and Grandaddy got him HIS first baby doll, Brother.  Aunt Katherine and Uncle Dave sent him a "rug" thats like a big map that he can drive his new trains and cars on and pretend its a real model layout or road (easy for him to pick up and drag around to where he wants to play). And Opa and Granmama got him a couple of Pocoyo books and a Lil Tykes basketball hoop. Last but not least, he got to facetime with Papa and Granma Stella and they sung him happy birthday. It was a bit of a fight getting the ipad back from him because he wanted to show them all of his new toys and talk to them. Tomorrow is grocery day with Gran! Time to get some shut eye, its been a long week with Rush and getting up so early...two more days and we start KINDERGARTEN!!!

Day 228

If the kids were edible they would've been on the menu today! If this rain doesn't cease and us dry up soon I think we may all go batty! Thank goodness school starts in 4days!! Tomorrow is her open house. We get to go see the completed classroom, talk to the teacher and turn in her supplies. I told Freyja she get to go play in her classroom tomorrow and you would've thought she'd just seen her freshly painted room for the first time again! The child was over the moon with the news! Opa is coming to sit with Jax in the morning so that both David and I can go with her. I may let her take her iPod so she can take pictures of her classroom she can study it and get more excited about Monday! I still can't believe I have a Kindergartener already!!

Day 227

I'm tired! School hasn't even started yet and I already miss my sleep! Jax decide to wake up grumpy at 630 today, bookstore computer was beyond repair, Freyja took a mid morning nap, closing shift at the bookstore only had one small snafu but I was still out of there in time for the moms night out dinner and now the kids are all snug in their bed and mama is on her way too!!

Day 226

Well, it's official! My beauty has her ears pierced!! We went to the mall today for Aunt Faye and while walking around we stopped in Claire's to look at hairbows and the next thing I know I'm walking out with a 5yr old high on adrenalin from just getting her ears pierced (and screaming loud enough to wake the dead...on another planet....far far far away!). She picked out turquoise daisies for Gran and for the most part sat still until the first gun went off...after a good 10min of consoling and bribing and begging and pinning her down for the clerk to take the shot when she could Freyja was in LOVE with her ears! After our shower tonight I put her hair back in braids so it wouldn't tangle in the earrings tonight. She looks so cute with them in her ears!

Day 225

We had a wonderful girls day at the beach today! The weather was gorgeous!! Possibly the first day in about a month that we didn't get some sort of shower! I saved a dolphin today! I had to swim out past the pier and save it before it was hit by a wave runner and the drag it back to shore. All of this, remind you, by someone who's not a strong swimmer to begin with! We made it back to shore safely (roughly a football field and some change from where I had to swim out and back to the beach) and the girls were thrilled to see the dolphin safe and sound! Would've hated if it had popped from someone hitting it! Yes, popped...it was a blow up ride on dolphin :-) and honestly i could touch ground all but the last 10ft to the pier, so I was in little danger of drowning or being eaten or run over by anything. Afterwards we played for few minutes longer then came back to the house and watched a movie (The Lorax) and then Freya and Nicole went home. Bugg got major sun under her eyes and a little on her shoulders, I got major sun on the hair line of my windshield of a forehead but both of us will be brown by Wednesday and shouldn't peel at all. Jax had a great day with his daddy and even ate his first "salad", in his case just a bowl of shredded lettuce. I work in the morning at 7am so better head off to bed! Will head to the mall when they open in the morning to fetch Aunt Fayes sweater!

Day 224

I couldn't have two cuter cuties if I tried! David sprung on me last minute that I needed to take Freyja with me for Jaxs pictures this morning so I picked her out something that would compliment Jax on the off chance they could get a couple of decent shots with the two of them. Needless to say they did a great job as usual!! Pix are in the August album and your hard copies will be in the mail this week. Tomorrow if the weather plays nice it's a girls day at the beach! So keep fingers crossed for NO RAIN!!!

Day 223

Kids and I were at Target by 815 buying lunchboxes and tupperwares. Freyja now has everything she needs but now I need to go through with permanent marker and mark everything. I snuck some mini Reese's pb cups into the cart today so she'll have a prize each day with lunch. Tomorrow Jax has his 2yr portraits. David went to vote with his dad today and came home with a bouquet of orange roses for me as a thank you for making sure Freyja is completely prepared for school....*sigh*...just wait til he gets the credit card statement! No matter how frugal I've tried to be, it's cost a small fortune prepping her! Time to knock out kids and sleeeeeeep!!

Day 222

Ever just need to shut down for a few days to reboot? Yeah...with all that's been going on here I've just needed a few days of "blah" to restart myself. Today we woke up with the alarm clocks at 630am, Freyja practiced her letters after breakfast, we watched The Lorax, boiled/deboned/bagged and froze enough chicken to last us the rest of the month and make dinners while I work rush a lot easier. At 230 Freyja and I went up to school and met Mrs Paterson, her future kindergarten teacher an got to see her classroom, cubby and chair have already been marked with her name! I started back working rush today, I'm just doing the open/close shifts meaning 7-9am and 3-close, I don't have much (if any) customer dealings just opening/closing drawers and reconciling reports. I LOVE IT!!! I don't work this Friday or next since the campus is still on summer schedule. Time for some shut eye before the lil kraken wakes and discovers he's alone in his bed and demands my company!
