Day 243

For those of you who have not heard, Chadron is on fire. Not the actual town yet but over 46k acres have burned including Chadron State park and several surrounding homes. They have not started evacuations yet but it looks like its eminent for Crawford, Chadron and Hemmingford. I've been in contact with several friends up there and it does not look good.
In other news, IT'S FRIDAY!!! Mama gets to sleep in in the morning, swap tomorrow night and kid free grocery shopping on Sunday!! Yay!!!

Day 241

I'm feeding the boy snacks in his daddy's lap more often! Daddy + snack = snackaleptic boy (narcoleptic)! Been a lazy day...school/works starts back tomorrow, I drilled some holes in the pig belly on the back porch for drainage, and various other mundane household tasks. Yay for being back in schedule tomorrow!!!

Day 240

I can't take credit for this picture but that's the observation deck that I took pix on last night with Freyja. It was closed today obviously because of the waves but someone with an awesomely powerful lens managed to snag this shot. It's been a mix of beautiful sunshine and sideways rain today. There was a tornado in Milton but not too close to mom and no idea on damage. The kids and I saw a huge tree down in the road over in East Hill near the park we took pix at. DJ and I took the kids out for a few minutes today between feeder bands. It was fun nearly being blown over and getting a sand body blast. Now the question is, will David and I get any sleep tonight with all the wind and rain!

Day 239

Fear not, even when we lose power I shall not lose my ability to take pix and blog! Freyja and I went out to the beach tonight to see the waves, 312 pix later and a shared ice cream later Freyja and I made it home safely. Editing pix now, will send an email shortly!

Day 238

Yay for free curbside furniture!! We scored a lovely Broyhill dresser today with only one blemish on it from a curb over near mom and dad vh. We went for an early swim and as we left to come home we noticed it, went back and grabbed dad vhs suv and loaded up the dresser. Now I have a folding table again, we still have the needed surface space for the printer and we have some more much needed drawer space! The kids had a better day today. No biting! They played outside while I chopped down the azalea in front of Jaxs room. I found a baby lizard, barely 2in long nose to tail, and let the kids hold and play with it for a while then we came in and they took a bubble bath. No school Monday and Tuesday for Freyja because of hurricane Isaac, but as of tonight I still have to report to work at 7am. I'm glad to see we are out of the direct hit zone but I hate that it looks like New Orleans will bear the brunt of this one again. Here's hoping power outages and damage to anyone anywhere is short lived and easily repaired!!

Day 237

Worked for a bit this morning. Came home to Jax tucked under a blanket in Freyjas room watching cartoons on the iPad. Then while David mowed the kids and I went to Toys r Us for a prize, Freyja came home with a new Doc McStuffins toy and Jax came home with a Kung Fu Panda Po doll. Everything was going great til Jax started crying tonight and when we checked on him Freyja had bitten five times! Once on each leg once on each arm and then once right above his eye...she lost her new toy, several other toys as well as the iPad for the rest of the weekend and was made to go to bed at 7pm. Jax finally passed out about 930 and I've been up playing iPad for bit, now its time to sleep!

Day 236

I survived the major week of rush! Freyja survived the first week of kindergarten! Daddy witnessed his baby girl becoming more independent. Jax had his first playdate, one specifically for him with another little boy his age! It's been a good week, good night!
